Downtown
Even though Manhattan is only about thirteen miles long and two miles wide, it contains many incredibly diverse neighborhoods. Here is a collection of pictures from some that we visited during the three years that we lived there. |
Midtown
I worked in Midtown when we lived in New York (and still spend a week a month there), so have became very familiar with it! |
Uptown
We lived on the Upper West Side, which meant that we also spent a lot of time in neighbouring Central Park. |

Bled
We went to Bled in Slovenia for Rob and Ange's wedding - as you can see they chose a very cool location to tie the knot. A couple of the photos were taken in the thermal swimming pool complex at our hotel. |
The Wedding
The wedding ceremony and reception were held in Bled Castle; in-between we were rowed out to Bled Island for the ringing of the church bell. |

Lake Sebago
Pictures from our camping trip (staying in wooden cabins) at Lake Sebago in Harriman State Park, which is in upstate New York. Six families went, with ten kids between us, who all had a great time amusing themselves. |
Red Hook
Photos from the weekend we spent in Red Hook staying with our friends Jonny and Angie in their summer rental house. The house is near Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome, which we took the boys to on the Saturday. We also went blueberry picking, which was a big hit as well. |
Steve and Ashley's
Over the 2005 Presidents Day long weekend, we went back down to Houston to stay with Steve and Ashley in their (relatively) new house. It was great to catch up, and to escape the New York winter weather while taking in some Texas country living. |
Washington DC
We got the train down to stay with Marcus in Washington DC for the 2004 Presidents Day weekend. It was cold but sunny most of the time we were there. Although it was a flying visit we managed to take in quite a few of the sights. |

General
These pictures are of the Steamtown "National Historic Site" in Scranton, PA, which is about two hours drive from New York. We have been there twice since we've been living in New York as Adam loves the "big steam engines". |
Close-Ups
Some close-up shots from Steamtown. The connecting rod pictures are of two different engines, both of which are still in steam. |

Rob and Ange Visit
Rob and Ange came and stayed with us for a couple of weeks just before William was born. They worked their way through most of the top 31 sites of New York (according to our guide book), and we enjoyed some good nights out. |
Christmas 2003
We had a full apartment for Christmas in 2003, which was great fun and was completely different to the previous year, which we spent by ourselves. Adam was thoroughly spoilt, with all four grandparents and Great Granny staying in New York. |
