While at Lake Balaton we stayed on a tiny vineyard accessible only by a dirt road. We had the place to ourselves most of the time, but were also luckily that there was a wine tasting on one of the evenings that we were there.
The lakeside beach experience is very different when compared to the seaside. With shallow water and no currents or large waves to worry about inflatables were definitely the order of the day.
The highlight of each trip to the beach was the pedalo trip.
Charlie and Tünde were staying in the town of Balatonfüred which was our main base for the holiday.
We spent our first morning in Hungary at the Palatinus water park in central Budapest, and also did a couple of trips from our base at Balatonfüred.

Over the week we covered a few miles on the headland either side of the beach.
Fun with seaweed, plus a very fruitful fishing trip.
