Big Cinder Butte

Smoke from a distant fire added to the atmosphere

It's easy to imagine the basalt solidifying from liquid in the not too distant past

This lava tube, known as Indian Tunnel, is illuminated by periodic holes in the ceiling

No torch was required as we walked its length

We walked the 800 foot length of the tube

Getting tighter as we move through

Getting steeper as well!

At the time the photo was taken we erroneously thought the hill on the horizon was Big Cinder Butte

At Three Rivers Ranch in the far East of Idaho, on our way to Yellowstone

Fish v duck for the dry cat food we had thrown in (top tip from a fellow camper) - the fish won
